Ahmed Legas

Ahmed Legas was born in Gondar, Ethiopia in a small town called Buhona. He attended his elementary scholl in the same town and completed his secondary education in the town of Aykol. He made his first debut while he was in the 9th grade by singing the famous song of the renowned artist Neway Debebe, "Eshet Belahu Enji". Consequently he joined the traditional music group in Gondar, the Fasiledes Kinet Band. After joining the Failedes Music group, he traveled extensively throughout the country to perform with various artists like Yirga Dubale, Wase Kassa, Assefa Debalqe and Selamawit Nega. Ahmed traveled to the capital Addis Abeba to make his first recording where he met various venerable artistes like Thomas Abebe at the renowned performance art center, Hager Fiqir Theater. Ahmed is currently performing on weddings and concerts in North America. This has helped him introduce his musical talent to the public and has offered him a chance to perform with well known artists like Aster Aweke and Ephrem Tamiru.
